The company “Hans Jossi Präzisionsmechanik” was founded on May 1st, 1957 by Hans and Ruth Jossi in Frauenfeld. The young company won the trust of various large and medium-sized companies in the surrounding area due to its commitment in implementing ambitious engineering concepts. The company continually expanded by increasing the scope of its manufacturing services.
A modular expandable building was erected in 1964 in Islikon as a result of important orders from the power industry; in 1973 the factory was tripled in size. The growing demand for manufacturing services for medical technology led to further building expansions in 1983, 1992 and 2001. Today, 6.500 m² of factory space are available.
To our precise mechanical manufacturing we added over time development and assembly services and we acquired and developed our own products. This provided us with increased flexibility, a broader economic base and enabled us to make better use of company resources. In 1993, all business areas were certified ISO 9001. In 2006, we were certified ISO 13485. Mid 1994 the company became a public limited company as a result of the succession plan and in 1997 a holding structure was established.
The JOSSI Holding AG includes the legally independent company JOSSI Ltd. whose core business is the mass contract manufacturing of complex technical products; JOSSI Systems Ltd., which develops, manufactures and sells protective systems for the textile industry, as well as JOSSI Orthopedics Ltd., manufacturer of orthopaedic implants and instruments. A workforce of 170 employees is on the payroll of these companies, of whom 25 are in apprenticeships.
